"During the Forest Action Weekend in Nuuksio on November 5-6, twenty young people from the Helsinki region had the opportunity to learn forest species and take part in forest inventories in unprotected high conservation value forests near Nuuksio National Park. The participants found more than 10 species from the Finnish Red List, which will be reported to the local environmental authorities. On Saturday evening there were presentations about forest protection activities and planning of a coming excursion to a threatened forest.

On November 10, the Luonto-Liitto group in Vaasa held a movie screening of Ritva Kovalainen's and Sanni Seppo's film "End of the Rainbow", which tells about people's experience of loosing the forest they have grown up with. The movie screening was followed by presentations about the forest protection situation in the Vaasa region and about Luonto-Liitto's forest activities. The result of the evening was the foundation of a local forest action group in Vaasa."
